With reference to PT3/FB.14.11.27. to use two 12 volt batteries in parallel would mean that we should have to provide a very special form of switch to enable each battery to be charged separately, and this cannot be done with our system of dynamo control without encountering many difficulties. In addition to this two 12 volt batteries would be much heavier than our present standard battery for the same capacity, and the half capacity battery would not be capable of dealing with the output of the dynamo.

To use two batteries in parallel it is essential that each battery is of ample capacity to suit the output of the dynamo, and the electrical requirements generally, but for several reasons we are not in agreement with the provision of two batteries.

Mr. Royce's scheme of two 6 volt batteries to be used in series is of course being adopted to facilitate removal from inside the chassis.
