CHASSIS B.105.CW - Mileage 26,206 Miles - After the fitting of a set of drilled up type connecting rods complete with L.B.B.s, the engine oiled very badly. We sent the cylinder bore measurements to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} who informed us that the amount of wear was such that the cylinders should be rebored. We fitted a new cylinder block complete with Aerolite pistons and the car was afterwards found to be O.K. on test.

CHASSIS B.179.AE - Please refer to our memo Sr/VA5/ET.4.2.36 "Cylinders and Pistons". Since carrying out rather extensive repairs to the engine, including the reboring of the cylinders and the fitting of a set of .10" oversize Aerolite pistons and delivering the car to the owner on the 2nd instant, we have had no further complaint about heavy oil consumption. Of course it may be that the owner has not yet used the car very much.

CHASSIS B.118.BL - Mr. Paul SPENGLER - We attach copy of a memo (VA4/ET.21.2.36) which we sent to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} and which might interest you. Please return it to us when you have finished with it.

CHASSIS B.1.CW - Paris Trials Car - Sr. reports that the oil consumption of this car is rather high. As Sr. will most probably be visiting the Works in a day or so, we would suggest that you take the matter up with him. If you will refer to our memo Sr/VA4/JB.16.9.35, you will observe that the car had then covered a total mileage of 33,560 Kms. At the same time, we fitted a set of new piston rings. The scraper ring fitted was of the early type EB.1407. As this car has now covered about 48,000 Kms. there may be a certain amount of cylinder bore wear.
