COPY OF EDISON BATTERY GUARANTEE ISSUED BY Messrs. EDISON ACCUMULATORS LTD. Guarantee for Edison Accumulators for use____________________ 1. Any defects in workmanship or material will be corrected free of charge if notice be given within one year of delivery. 2. If any cells are found within eight years to be incapable of developing full rated capacity under normal conditions, we will, at our option, either re-establish the full capacity free of charge or replace such cells with others of full rated capacity at a price which is less than the list price by an amount corresponding to the unexpired proportion of a total service provided by 2000 complete cycles. If the actual use of the battery involves less than 250 complete charges per annum, the cells are to be considered as though they had been worked to this minimum extent in each year. PROVIDED HOWEVER a.{Mr Adams} That all said cells are cared for and operated in accordance with our standard instructions. b. That in the application above stated the battery circuit is provided with an ampere-hour meter and that we are forwarded monthly records of the amount of charging each day. c. That in the event of a claim under this Guarantee, cells shall be returned to our Works, carriage paid, labelled with the name and address of the owner and intimation that these cells are to be made good under Guarantee. d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} An intimation is forwarded within three days, quoting the cell numbers, stating how they have been consigned, date of original delivery, description of application as stated above, nature of defect, and that they are required to be made good under terms of this Guarantee. e.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} That the batteries are installed and worked in a manner approved by us, and that conditions of working are not substantially altered during the period of the Guarantee without the consent in writing of Edison Accumulators Ltd. This Guarantee is given in lieu of any guarantee or warranty, either expressed or implied by Statute or otherwise, and is limited to the making good at the Company's Works of defects which may develop in new cells bought either direct from Edison Accumulators Ltd., or from them through one of their authorised agents. It is to be distinctly understood that this Guarantee applies to cells and parts thereof only (labour and other expenditure incurred in all cases must be paid for by user), and that Edison Accumulators Ltd., accept no responsibility for consequential damages.
