Dear Robotham, With reference to our talk yesterday, I confirm that I understood you were good enough to say you would like to try some 6-ply Aero Cushion covers experimentally on the Bentley. I am therefore requesting the factory to send you as soon as possible five Aero Cushion covers - 6.00-16, 6-ply - to Derby. Further, I understood that you wanted us to send six Super covers and six Black tubes - size 7.00-18, to Chateauroux, France, the covers to be the same tread pattern as the Bentley tyre. I am also asking the factory to despatch these direct to France. With regard to the rubber blocks and mounting I showed to you, I fully appreciate what you told me with regard to your co-operation with the British Goodrich Company in these matters owing to the nearness of their factory to your own. We should, however, be very grateful if at any time we could be of service to you in matters of this kind, you would be so good as to give us an opportunity to submit a sample of any goods of this nature that you might require. I also confirm that I understood you were still of the opinion that the new type Bentley tyre was noisier than the old. As I promised, I am writing to the factory on this point and requesting Mr. Worth to carry out experiments at speeds varying from 10 to 50 miles per hour and asking him to let you know the result. As I told you, I know he, himself, does not agree that the new tyre is more noisy than the old. I do hope you will find the 'P.W.' body which you are/ | ||
