1218 To: "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}", D E R B Y. LEVALLOIS Sr26/Dn29.4.40 Dear "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}", Many thanks for your wire reading: "Exceedingly sorry no trace of ammunition file in Derby or Duffield", I am sorry that all this trouble has occurred about this file, but the facts are exactly as follows: I handed you the file at Park Leys, DUFFIELD on Tuesday evening, 16th April, and you mentioned that you would get it photographed, as I pointed out to you that I had to give it back to Squadron Leader Burk. However, I returned without it, hence my numerous requests. I have checked up with myself, and can find no trace of it. I feel sure the file was left at Duffield, and that it will be recuperated one of these days. It is a green file, with photos out of "Flight" and "The Aeroplane", plus some official information giving sectional views and diagrams of ORLICAN re ammunition used on M.E.109. I have, so far, managed to avoid contact with Sq.Leader Burk, and hope that in the meantime the file will be recuperated. At present I am very busy, as you can appreciate, but I have not overlooked the fact that you are contemplating coming over here. I should like to know when you are coming. As far as I am concerned, I think it would be better if you came in about 8 to 10 days time, but I shall always "be on my toes" if you do come over before. With kind regards, Yours sincerely, for W.
