S/W X3199. WST To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. from F.C Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} F10/JL.20.9.32. SUCTION-OPERATED IGNITION CONTROL SWITCH. The attached paper has been sent in to us. Do you think there would be any advantage in fitting a suction-operated switch either for aircraft or car work? Is it a common occurrence for motorists to leave their cars switched on and in consequence burn out the coils and spoil the batteries? Do you think such a proposal has any value from the point of view of safety from fire in the air? In any case, if we wanted the suction-operated switch I assume there would be little difficulty in producing such a device, and that therefore this proposal would be of no interest. Would you please let me know if you concur in these remarks. Attachment:- Leaflet re above. [Signature: F.{Mr Friese}] [Stamp: RECEIVED F.{Mr Friese} C. 21 SEP 1932] | ||
