Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}S/MLH.16.3.40.

HAND BRAKE.

Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} will look into the oval type hand brake.

Bowden wire controlled hand brake is at present fitted.

It is important that the oval type hand brake should receive consideration as it will go right through the rationalised range. It is probable that Ripplette will have a Humber type hand brake.

It was pointed out to RH.{R. Hollingworth} that the reason we were going for the Bowden control is because stones got into the mechanism.

RH.{R. Hollingworth} raised the question of a mild steel brake pull rod. He is going to issue a memo dealing with this as nobody quite understood to what he was referring.

The piece No. is GB.587.

It was emphasised that the clearances laid down in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}5/ML.16.2.40 could be used for this car.

PROPELLOR SHAFT.

Smaller joints - details in hand.

Rubber mounted support for centre bearing - re-design under consideration by Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} and FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}

REAR AXLE.

It was agreed that the axle that was at present on the car would have to remain on for a little while as there was a good deal of work entailed in getting the new finalised axle.

It was anticipated that the car would be tried with the 11/41 ratio before changing to 10/41.

A clamp-on bracket might be necessary to enable the Gordon Armstrong brackets to be fitted.

It was emphasised that the new axle tubes would be made from the Corniche raw material to a drawing which would be issued by RH.{R. Hollingworth} during the week before Easter.

Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
