To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} +401 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/2029. 8.25. BALANCE WEIGHTS ON WIRE WHEELS. X.401 X.457 Mr. Royce did not approve is of the scheme for holding on balance weights, of which the pieces were brought down by Dodd on Monday last. What Mr. Royce prefers is shewn on N.Sch.2048 (herewith). We are not sure exactly what you propose to do but we have presumed that three of these studs are permanently fitted into the wheel, and by this means it is impossible to balance the unbalanced weight in any position by the suitable adjustments of the weights on the several studs.
