Messrs. Rolls, Royce, Ltd.
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. Leslie.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 18th. inst. and you will no doubt have now received the new hand controlled shock absorbers and trust that these will give every satisfaction.

We have in hand a further pair of these with straight levers and phosphor bronze bushes, we shall be despatching these to you shortly.

With reference to the split crank, we are having one of these made up for testing purposes and will give you a report on this matter later.

Enclosed please find drawings of our larger type shock absorber and also drawings showing on generous scale the relative displacement of our medium type shock absorbers. These show that the piston displacement over an of angle of 45° are exactly equal.

With reference to your last paragraph, we appreciate the difficulties of bellows control to our type of valve, however Mr. Armstrong has now returned and we are going further into this question and Mr. Armstrong himself will no doubt be writing you in the next few days.

Yours faithfully,
p.p. ARMSTRONG'S PATENTS CO. LTD.
