VOLTAGE REGULATED DYNAMO FOR SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'S CAR

With further reference to our Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/AD27.9.32 and your Ry2/G3.10.32 regarding the above, the dynamo for this scheme has now been issued but the regulator unit has not yet been finally decided as will be seen from L1/HF{H. W. Frost - Coachwork Inspector}14.11.32.

We suggest, however, that the regulator could be neatly mounted on an automatic starter switch base as has been done on 19-EX and the 10,000 mile test Peregrine.

This arrangement works out quite well and does not influence the working of the regulator.

We should be glad therefore if you will arrange for a scheme to be instructed for the fitting to 58-GN of the new shunt dynamo as per Ry/RD4/W20.10.32, and a C.A.V. regulator and resistance unit mounted on an automatic switch base. The existing switchbox which is a standard P.II box should also have a modification instructed so that the dynamo is on charge in all positions. This only entails a slight alteration.

58-GN is now in the experimental shop for various modifications to be made to the chassis etc.
