-2- costly experiments thereon. We are, at the Olympia Show, exhibiting on our stand three cars with all enclosed bodies, to which we have fitted our Patent Coupe de Ville Leather Extension over the driver. This we know will help to a very great extent to prevent vibration from the chassis being transmitted to the body. This extension cuts up the roof from the front pillars, so that the vibration cannot be carried overhead from the scuttle - which is a very important point. Our Rolls-Royce Pullman Limousine is also fitted with a Semi-domed Leather Roof over the rear part, which cannot vibrate as is the case with the panelled roof. I think our Patent Coupe de Ville Leather extension is the greatest advancement and improvement we have ever made in bodies towards making these less liable to transmit chassis noises. I am sure you are anxious to help us as much as possible in this matter and shall therefore be very glad if you will give definite instructions to your Sales Department - especially at this Olympia Show to recommend your clients who are requiring Limousine or all enclosed bodies to have our Patent COUPE de VILLE LEATHER EXTENSION. Whilst I have been writing this letter I have had a 'phone message from Mr. Masselwhite from Olympia to say that your Mr. Spinney has called on our Stand and expressed the opinion that he considers our Coupe de Ville Leather Extension the greatest improvement we have ever made in bodies. We have just built for a customer a 40/50 h.p. Rolls-Royce Pullman Limousine with a semi-domed leather roof and the Coupe de Ville Extension which Mr. Spinney has informed me is a most satisfactory car and of which the Show Pullman is almost a duplicate. When the Show is over, I should like you to see and try this in company with Mr. Claude Johnson. Since writing your letter to me, under reply, as you are aware, we have had a conference this week on this question, and I would suggest that we both continue to experiment and try various cars until a satisfactory solution is arrived at.
