X.3317. RE PACKARD BIJUR DYNAMO.

The Bijur Dynamo for the Packard car has been despatched to-day per passenger train. Delay in returning this has occurred owing to the Works sending a replace machine with different dimensions. Fortunately, I have been able to alter the wall bracket to suit the machine now sent.
With reference to the dynamo on the Buick car, the middle cell has always been wrong, and I conclude that it fails to hold a charge because of pellet or semi-conductor bridging the plates inside. Can you send another six-volt battery, the dimensions are as shewn on attached sketch LeC.1109.
In its present condition without the self starter, the engine is dangerous, because it is very likely to fire back on one if one fails to get over a compression. This is very likely to happen because the starting handle is in the wrong relative position, and has insufficient notches.
