Test report on the failure of Tungsten Points in a Watford Magneto due to arcing.

No 110886 The contact points were set to give a break of .020". Regular sparking could not be obtained at 1500 revs on account of what appeared to be quite a stable arc set up between the the contact points. As the speed was lowered, this arcing was slightly reduced, and the sparking improved. A smaller gap on the breaker was then tried, which also partly reduced the arcing, but it was evident that the points were a failure. Signed C.A.P.
