Test of Tungsten Points on X 2375
Watford Magneto Eb. No 110886
The contact points were set to give a break of .020".
Regular sparking could not be obtained at 1500 revs on account of what appeared to be quite a stable arc set up between the the contact points. As the speed was lowered, this arcing was slightly reduced, and the sparking improved.
A smaller gap on the breaker was then tried, which also partly reduced the arcing, but it was evident that the points were a failure.
