contd :- -2- impression that these would be purchased out, in the same way as we are continually using the Hartfords, and that there was no difficulty in fitting these in place of our own make. In the far future however we are expecting that we may possibly have to make something better than we can purchase, owing to thefact that most of such fittings are made to market price rather than maximum perfection. Referring to the length of the pendulum levers these should be to the old standard of 9.5 for 40/50 unless specialy instructed. There are no instructions sent from here yet for large worm for India, and the present box must still be used with .800 or .328 - either are enear enough, and the present pendulum lever (not damped) is to be used: it is 10.6 long. (We have instructions for large worm nearly ready.) We are proceeding to see what we can do with a design for hydraulic shock damper for the New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
