Engine Suspension. ************************ We have carried out a series of tests to measure the amount of deflection on the Gearbox cross member. The method employed was to fix one micrometer clock vertically on the top of the cross member to measure downward movement, and another clock horizontally at the bottom of the member to measure fore and aft movement, weights then being placed on the engine and gearbox in steps of 500 lbs.
