1253 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. 16th November, 1940. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}2/ET. W.A. WILSON, Esq., 78, York Way, LONDON N. 1. Dear Sir, Confirming your recent visit, it was agreed that you should supply sample pistons as follows: The bores we are interested in are 75 mm., 3.250", 3.500", 3.750". Our centre of gudgeon pin to crown dimension is 2.300". If you happened to have pistons for all the above bores with the latter dimensions within .125, we would like samples for each. Failing this, we would like the nearest you can do. Considering the 3.250" version, the weight must not exceed 16 oz. (minus rings and gudgeon pin). Supposing you are able to supply say a 3.250" piston weighing less than 16 oz., which has been fitted as standard to a known engine, then we should have a ready made figure of merit for such a piston. Yours faithfully, | ||
