YL278 ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, INC. SPRINGFIELD, MASS. OY3 March 28th, 1929. Mr. E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Hives, c - Mr. Sidgreaves Rolls Royce Ltd., Derby, England Dear Mr. Hives: Re CHASSIS ALTERNATION No.7 Re Horn Replying to Hsl/LG5.3.29 the Sparton SOS deLuxe horn has in the opinion of Sales and all of us here a distinctly better tone than the Robt. Bosch. Of course it is not so nicely put together, but in quite a lot of experience we have had no trouble with it. One reason that we believe to be good for putting the horn on the cylinder head is that the dashboard as years go by is becoming so crowded with bits that it seems advisable to begin taking off what we can to allow for the automatic chassis lubrication tanks, decarboniser tanks, and what not, which may have to crowd on to it in the future. Yours faithfully, ROLLS ROYCE OF AMERICA, INC. Maurice Olley | ||
