-2- Hsl/AD20.5.31 contd. Higher compression ratio. We have fitted, with Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s permission, on two customers' cars modified cylinder heads to give a compression ratio of 5 : 1 instead of 4.6 Nitralloy crankshaft. We have one of these prepared and we should like to obtain experience with it. A.C. Petrol Pump. We have received an A.C. petrol pump which will fit on to the present Phantom engine and we think it is better to run this to gain experience rather than run the standard autovac. Radiator. Ru should like this car to run with the most efficient radiator we know of which has the small diameter American type radiator tubes. We are preparing a radiator of this type. Brakes. It is proposed to fit the anti-squeak type shoe both to the front and rear brakes. Present standard drums will be fitted although we may send ribbed drums if the tests at Derby confirm they are an improvement. Shock Absorbers. The rear shock absorbers will have the split type pistons, cast iron end with knife edge valve seats and spring loaded connecting tube lubricated from the axle. We have asked Ry. to send a print of this shock absorber to W.W. so that they can see what is being fitted. The front shock absorbers will be the present type with the hardened steel bushes and pipe arranged to lubricate the joint irrespective of oil level of shock absorber. | ||
