Bijur dynamo with vibrator arrangement, which undoubtedly will keep the battery up better.

It should be understood that in many cases batteries have become short-circuited or partly short-circuited through the deposit on the supporting bars and the warping of the plates and the ineffectiveness of the separators.

The Lucas dynamo has also failed to supply a satisfactory charging current owing to the fuses blowing and putting out one of the exciting circuits.

We propose to send no dynamos on the chassis which we are sending out in the future, so that you can find your own.

The difficulty, so far as our agreeing to your dynamo equipment is concerned, is that American company have never sent us a specimen of what they would wish to fit which has proved satisfactory. I believe, however, that either the Westinghouse or Bijur dynamo with vibrator regulator will be found to give fair satisfaction.

We think the simpler control of the dynamo is that of the third brush, because the vibrator regulator is of necessity rather a delicate piece of apparatus. It is also a highly refined problem to give a large current to a battery which is low down, and a smaller current to a battery when it gets charged, the difference in the voltage during charging being only a small amount. Unless therefore the vibrator regulator is sensitive and capable of exact adjustment, we consider as we have found, that it is hardly a desirable fitting.

As regards the cars to be sent from England, we should like you to say in what state these should be sent, agreeing that no magneto and dynamo is fitted. We suggest that they are sent with our own switchboard, distributor board, and wiring
