EHC1/T2.5.28.

AUTO CHARGE CONTROL SWITCH.

RL/M18.4.28.

We have never had any intention of doing work which was contrary to your instructions, but have only done what we judged was desired from your various memos.

Two of your earlier memos expressed some disfavour with the switch on account of complication, and for a time development was held in abeyance. A number of subsequent memos, however, appeared to us to imply that you wished us to proceed, as their wording seemed to favour the development of the switch. Until your RL/M29.2.28, therefore, development was continued in parallel with that of the green lamp switch unit.

14-EX was fitted with an auto charge control switch unit to the instruction contained in your R3/M2.12.27.

It was unfortunate that this should have occurred before the instrument had reached the perfection it has latterly attained.

We have stopped further work in this direction.

EFC.
