+46TT 328 GRLY To BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} from HDY.{William Hardy} c. Wory By Ms. Der. BUG. Sft.{Mr Swift} [text has a red strikethrough] SpectreCodename for Phantom III Gearbox. N. Sch.4275 herewith shows the modifications referred to in HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.21.11.34, to give an increase of leverage of the 1st speed actuation. The travel of the lever is now the same as for the 2nd speed and the increase of leverage is 28%. The two levers of the existing scheme are combined in one as suggested by Sft.{Mr Swift} This arrangement does not allow of any adjustment of the 1st speed wheel independently of the 2nd speed but unless we hear that such an adjustment is required we shall assume that none is necessary. It is intended that the jaw in the lever for the 1st speed shall be profile milled. The jaw for the 2nd speed lever may be profile milled as for the 1st speed, if preferred to gashing, as the contour is the same. If made as for the 1st speed the external shape around the radii in the jaw should be the same also. Slight lengthening of the selector spring-housing is necessary. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
