X. 3568 EH. from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} C. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} --------- Bnl/W12.6.19. --------- RE TESTS FOR EFFECT OF BYE-PASS IN WATER CIRCULATION OF CHASSIS. The small effect observed with a full bore bye-pass but without throttle in main flow may be due to the fact that the bye-pass was taken out of the main circuit by a right-angle bend. I think the water would much prefer to keep straight on in its path rather than turn sharp round at right-angles. A "Y" pipe, or breeches pipe would probably have a very much increased effect, and is worth trying as it would give a more consistent result. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Bn{W.O.
