Calculation of front and rear wheel loads for a Wraith III Continental Touring Limousine.

To Compute the front and rear Wheel Loads. The best we can do is to assume the front to rear proportionality of Wraith III - Continental Touring Limousine, which is 18.375 front to 21.062 rear. Car Unladen. Per Front Wheel = 18.375 / 39.437 x 4192 / 2 = 975 lbs. Per Rear Wheel = 21.062 / 39.437 x 4192 / 2 = 1121 lbs. Allowance for 3 passengers and luggage. 2 passengers in front = 300 lbs. total. of which approx. 75 lbs. go to each of the four wheels. 1 rear passenger and 100 lbs of luggage goes almost entirely on the rear wheels, giving 125 lbs per rear wheel. Laden wheel load 975 + 75 = 1050 lbs front. and 1121 + 75 + 125 = 1321 " rear. Front unsprung weight per wheel = 130 lbs. Rear unsprung weight per wheel = 200 lbs. Therefore spring weight per wheel:- Front 920 lbs. Rear 1121 lbs. | ||
