RR 238 (150 BKS.) (SH57. 29-4-20.) MP 23435s X. 8796 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To E.Y.C. Date 28-4-1925 Order No. WB {Mr Brazier / Mr Bell} 9 Customer's No. X4181d Watford E06d magneto N0 81018 (Special Ground pole-shoes and sleeves) The above magneto has been run on the bench for the purpose of investigating the noise of operation. We agree with Messrs North's (WD {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 1/NJ 27.4.25) that the noise described as the "flopping of the sleeves" is distinctly bad on this machine, more especially when the cam-ring is almost fully advanced; and the magneto in its present condition would be too noisy to fit to a chassis. Upon examination it was observed that Messrs North's had carefully ground the pole shoes and sleeves, but had apparently failed to Signed contd This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
