20-HP. IGNITION COIL FAILURES. X4079. X4273

Further to our memo' EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}4/H10.8.23.

We note the cause of the failure of Coil No.3478 ex. Chassis 80-K-7.

We have tested on a chassis Coil No.3016 ex. Chassis 59-S-7 and confirm that this is in order and suitable for service.

We have also tested on the road Coil No.3115 ex. Chassis 58-S-3. This coil is still unsatisfactory. For 8 miles on the road it ran satisfactorily and then failed. After standing for a few minutes it functioned again but after a few miles further running it failed entirely.

We return this coil to you herewith for further investigations.

Please let us have your report.
