RR 755 REVISED (10H) (DE444 6-10-26) BM. ORIGINAL COMPLETED 23.9.27 STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS. Date 9.9.27 Description of Parts. BALLAST RESISTANCE OF 39" OF 33 SWG. NICKEL WIRE IN PLACE OF 25" OF 31 SWG (STANDARD) X No. 8720 Drawing No. Part List Origin. To reduce current taken by ignition circuit and assist in saving contact points. Experimental Test Report. Bench expts. have shewn that contact point results are slightly improved as a consequence of the reduction of current due to the use of the double value ballast resistance. (This is additional to the effect of finer primary coil recently standardised). Road Test Report. Run 10,000 miles on 10-G3 11-G3 and 8-EX. These resistances caused no irregularity. High and low engine speed tests using these ballast resistances have been carried out on the road with satisfactory results. Gen. report EFG5/T1. 9.27 Weight of Old Part. £ Cost of Old Part. £ Weight of New Part. £ Cost of New Part. £ Difference per Car. Negligible. Difference per Car. Negligible.
