1125 SECRET. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/JH.13.8.40. re Chassis Designs. We thank you for Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/ML.8.8.40. (1) 3.B.50. rear floor. The weakness of the rear floor is really a matter for Park Wards and Mr. Green. We shewed how it should be constructed on PD. 280 but we are aware that Park Wards did not act on our recommendations. (2) Rear number plates. On all models we have built in rear number plates as a standard fitting. A number of Exptl. cars have cast or sheet metal rear number plates on the off side rear wing. These are a relic of the days when we could not afford a built in rear number plate on such a low priced model as B.50. or even B.5.
