Investigation into oil entering the dynamo from the Bentley tachometer drive and the unauthorized fitting of a breather device.

We have been further investigating the cause of oil entering the dynamo from the epicyclic tachometer drive gearing, and we have found that a breather was fitted to these tachometer drives on Production last year. We have no record of this breather device ever being subjected to tests in the Experimental Dept. and we have never approved the same or issued standardisation sheets covering its fitment.
