18th November 1926.

Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. Fowler Clark.

Dear Sirs,

You have at times asked us to try and arrange for an increased volume of electrolyte above the top of the plates and Mr. Royce has asked us for the same thing. The present instructions say 1/4" above the top but since we have modified the design of the vent and shortened this, we think that this might be increased to 3/8" which would still bring the level just below the bars and under side of cell lid. {A. J. Lidsey}

We rather gathered that you would prefer a little more than 3/8", something more like 1/2". We are sending you the enclosed drawing which shows the position to see if you have any suggestions to make. We do not quite see how the design can be altered but perhaps you may have some ideas on the subject.

Yours faithfully,
PETO & RADFORD.

G.R.N. Minchin
