I am enclosing herewith a lot of prints of Mechanics Universal Joints which I have obtained direct from the Mechanics Universal Joint Division of the Borg-Warner Corporation in America as the result of my interview with the Vice-President Mr. R.R. Rolph. Of particular interest is the double universal joint which they suggest we might use between the Merritt-Brown Gearbox and the final drive on Cromwell. There is a smaller edition of this which we could use on the carrier. They also include details of their constant velocity joints which may be of interest. If there is such a constant velocity joint I suggest that we should consider trying one on a Bentley with split propeller shaft in order to discover whether the vibration about which there are serious complaints, has anything to do with the loads resulting from the present joint which is under constant velocity.
