Proposed. BJ. from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to C. c. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}22/AG30.9.24 Tyres. The Rapson Company have written us as copy attached I have discussed same with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and as a result we would state:- Whilst admittedly the results obtained with Rapson Tyres on Experimental cars here have given satisfactory mileage results, their comfort is not equal to the corresponding Dunlop or Michelin Tyre, whilst the prices they suggest should we standardise same are distinctly in excess of those we enjoy at present from Dunlop, i.e. You will doubtless agree the time is not ripe to (a) Standardise Rapson Tyres (b) Mention same in our Catalogue in conjunction with another make. Assuming such is the case, will you advise if we shall intimate to them that unless they can put forward keener figures, we shall find it necessary to charge extra to the Public when Rapson Tyres are specified.
