1280 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.14/IH. Messrs. John Mardon Ltd., Wolverhampton. 12th. November 1937. For the attention of Mr. Dunn. Dear Sirs, Our inspection people here have drawn our attention to the fact that one of the three radiator matrices to EW.1161 (which you have just sent in) is .050 too long. While we are not rejecting this matrix on this account because - (a) we realise that this is an experimentally made job and not a production one. (b) The drawing EW.1161 does not show any dimensional limits, we presume that your limits on this matrix in production will be the same as those you have accepted on our current matrices, i.e. ± .015. We are altering our drawing EW.1161 to have the necessary limits on dimensions water-ways etc. immediately, and in connection with this, will you please let us have the following information - (1) What size feeler gauge for water way checking can you accept on production standard - the present Ph.III Mk.VI being .055 x 1.000. (2) What flow figure on the lines of that given in the 25/30 matrix and Phantom III matrix, can you guarantee. | ||
