TELEPHONES TELEGRAMS PAISLEY 4141/5 INDIAOWL, RENFREW INCHINNAN SCOTLAND OUR REF HSC/JT YOUR REF Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/KT Experimental Department. 11th August 1933. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. For attention of W.A.Robotham Esq. Dear Sirs, We note from your letter that you feel that as long as the Tyres now running in France prove to be satisfactory it would be inadvisable to change the design. Our only idea in putting up this modified design was to attempt to offer you a Tyre which had greater flexibility, especially as Mr. Royce had mentioned in the course of conversation that flexibility of carcase was of prime interest. Would you care for us to send a set of Tyres of this modified design to France forthwith in order that they may test it? The situation is that we are particularly anxious to provide, at the earliest possible moment the necessary equipment to enable us to satisfy promptly any requirements you may have for this particular Tyre and consequently wish to get our permanent equipment in hand at the earliest possible moment. If, therefore, you think it advisable to go ahead with the original design and not wait for the result of tests which you are going to undertake then we should appreciate hearing from you to this effect in the course of post. Yours faithfully, INDIA TYRE & RUBBER CO.(GREAT BRITAIN) LTD. [Signature] General Sales Manager. | ||
