S/W...E/L c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} c. to Whr.{Mr Wheeler} c. to Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} 8180. C17/C16.6.31 Re Accident to 24-EX D/L3/B15.6.31. We note that the cost of the repairs to the chassis will amount to £246. 7. 3. As you know, the idea was whether we should consider using this chassis for the Paris Trials car. There is, however, a further question to consider, and that is, making this car, at least so far as appearance is concerned, of the N-2 series, as, of course, in giving Paris a Trials car it is necessary that it should be quite up-to-date. Will you please, therefore, consult with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and find out just exactly what alterations are necessary, and let us know the cost. The matter is extremely urgent, as we want to get the car ready for the Show, so that unless you think straight away that the alterations, apart from the repairs, are likely to cost a very large sum of money, please get on with the repairs immediately and let us know as soon as you can the cost of the alterations, and what they consist of. With regard to the body, this does not appear to be suitable for demonstration purposes, according to a recent report by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and therefore for the time being we do not think it advisable to spend £88.11. 6. in repairs. We think, however, this body ought to be used up later on when Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} requires a body for a new experimental chassis. We suggest, therefore, you store this for the time being with this end in view, unless Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} can see any reason against this. C. [Stamp]: RECEIVED 18 JUN 1931 SE | ||
