X9710 BJ. - from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/HC25.7.24. E.A.C.3 - 12 1/2% Weaker Front Springs. The spring-makers have promised to deliver the first set of springs today. A further two sets of springs are promised for tomorrow. These first three sets will be used for road tests in France. One set will be fitted to a covered car, one to an open car, and the other set will be carried as spares. The spring-makers have promised a further supply of springs towards the end of next week. When these arrive, they will be fitted to the 98-NK open car. A further set will be fitted to 48-PK, which is a car fitted with a cabriolet body. These cars will then be sent to London for the Sales officials to try. We will advise London the day these cars will arrive. 48-PK. is the car which we had prepared for PN.{Mr Northey} to take away to France. It is fitted with a completely finished Parke Ward Cabriolet body. The chassis is also new. We do not require this car for experimental purposes, and it can, therefore, be retained in London. As regards 98-NK. we should like this back at the Works on August 6th, because there are several points on the car which we wish to examine since it has completed the 10,000 miles.
