Smedley}1/BM.20.12.38 Chassis 3.AZ.72 - Dynamo Y.24.B We received the above Dynamo for investigation and have gone into the question of faulty soldering very carefully. Our examination with a powerful magnifying glass revealed that the Commutator slots and the Conductors were adequately tinned and had at one time been securely soldered. The condition of the solder appeared crystallized which is consistent with the usual effects of over heating due to armature reaction, and the burning would occur following the deposition of the solder and not prior to. We have no record of this machine having been sent in for repairs previously. [STAMP: DEC 22 A.M. 1938] RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/Smd.{J. Smedley} [Signature: R.H.C. Keneday] | ||
