For the attention of Mr. W.A. Robotham.
Dear Sirs,
Mr. Devereux has handed me your letter of the 20th instant to reply to and I note that you are desirous of obtaining some information relative to magnesium forgings.
In my letter to you of the 22nd December I quoted typical figures obtained on forged magnesium alloy, as used in the manufacture of magnesium propellor blades, which I would again quote as follows:-
0.1% Proof Stress - 12/14 tons per sq. inch.
Ultimate Stress - 19/21 " " "
Elongation: - 8 to 10%
These figures are readily obtained on a production basis on magnesium propellor blades supplied to Messrs. Rotol Airscrew Ltd.,
I have pleasure in also enclosing you herewith Data Sheets covering our Magnuminium series of Magnesium alloys, which I trust will be of interest to you.
Yours faithfully,
For and on behalf of
HIGH DUTY ALLOYS LTD.,
[Signature]
Technical Superintendent.
