Chassis 18 G IV. Experimental Car
On receipt of your D/SP{Mr Spinney}/Y27/DH{D. Henderson - Showroom} 4.7.33 we again communicated with the General Transport C°, who confirm that there is no possible way of obtaining refund of the duty paid on the parts sent over by Bell.
We agree with you that this is a very unfortunate case, but we would remind you again that no mention of temporary importation appeared in the papers handed over by your man to the General Transport Co's representative.
To avoid the repetition of such cases we can but suggest that you advise us by memo. when you want special attention given to goods for Chateauroux, in order that we may have time to give written instructions to the transport agents. We think that the cause of all the trouble is that only verbal instructions were issued, and as far as we are concerned, we only received two tele grams asking us to meet your man and attend to formalities
