Mr. Royce considered we should carry out the wiring as far as the switch board, from there, whoever supplies the lamp can make their own connection. It was agreed that one size of low tension wire should be standardised also one size of wire for the high tension and one size for the motor leads. We are preparing samples of terminals, we have fitted them on the wires and are sending them to Mr. Royce for him to examine. X.2768. CARBURETTER. The float feed on the chassis carburetter should be made so that the seating can be removed. Mr. Elliott will supply sketches of this. X.3129. IGNITION. Mr. Royce approves of the scheme of using the standard contact breaker and high tension distributor but he desired that a new contact breaker cam should be used. Mr. Elliott is supplying a drawing of this. The range of the control should be altered to suit the plain non-trembler ignition. RE RUSTLESS BLACK FINISH FOR PARTS X.3424. Mr. Royce suggested that we should investigate and see whether we can provide a nice black finish to some of our machine parts to prevent rust. He had in mind a black oxidise finish you see on some watch cases. He said that he thought it was done by putting the parts in an oven and baking them a certain temperature and then injecting super-heated steam. | ||
