| RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X212 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}12/KW.14.3.34. BENTLEY CLUTCH. We want to carry out some destruction tests on a Clutch with the fabric on the driven member. G.55792 should be in cast-iron, have the tip removed as shown, and not be drilled for the usual rivet holes. GB.748 should also be in cast-iron and altered as shown. We should like two driven members, one in saw steel and staggered as usual, the fabric to be cut into segments; and one a plain disc in S/N so that the fabric presents a continuous surface (i.e., exactly as recently carried out on 3-B-IV). In both cases the fabric should be standard RAD.11. We want to put these tests in hand as soon as possible, so as to try and overcome the complaints of rapid clutch wear experienced on production cars. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Grylls. | ||
