OVERHEATING.

R.{Sir Henry Royce} has agreed that we can on existing round tubes add the indentations to increase the efficiency. We are therefore sending a Standardisation Sheet round for this modification.

We have carried out further tests this week on Brooklands to confirm the previous results. The average decrease in temperature on Phantom II is 7º all out max. speed, 6º at 60 M.P.H., 2 to 3º at 40 M.P.H.

Actually, this modification to the tubes should make the radiator at least/equally efficient as the original Phantom II's which were despatched and which as far as we know we had no complaints on.

The reason we suggested that a modified radiator should be sent to Mr. Nicolls in Italy was because he appeared to be in great difficulty, and also the conditions out there appeared to be such that he could make comparative tests.

If we have a customer near to hand which it would be useful to give a new radiator to, we are in entire agreement. We anticipate, however, that our overheating complaints will have disappeared now until next summer. This, however, must not prevent us doing all we can to the radiator.
