to BY from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} T. X/530 EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/7.2.28. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RE INSTRUMENTS FOR CONTINENTAL PHANTOM. As a result of conversations between ourselves and the coachbuilders we have decided to fit the arrangement of instruments shewn on N.Sch.2543.herewith, to the Barker Phantom Sports, 16.EX. You will see that we require the controls to be 6.250 ins. from the centre of the car and not 4.000 ins. as we originally asked for. Will Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} kindly arrange for the modification to the dash to be made when the car is returned to Derby. With reference to the twelve production sets, we are not in a position to say what should be done. Mr Royce is pressing for our Framed Instruments to be fitted as standard to all cars (Continental Phantoms) and we cannot agree to the use of N.Sch. 2543. as standard in view of his remarks. It will be seen that this is a matter which "Sales" have to settle with "R" before we can issue any instructions. It would appear the best policy to arrange the controls to come as close to the column as possible, say about 6.500 ins. from the centre of the car, if no agreement is reached before you wish to drill the dashboards, as this position will suit our framed scheme, and can be made to suit a grouped system of standard instruments. Would By kindly take this matter up with "Sales" with aview to arriving at a settlement. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
