Messrs John Marston Ltd.,
WOLVERHAMPTON.

For the attention of Mr.Dunn.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 18th. inst., and note that the Bentley shutter arrangement which you are completing will be ready in a few days.

The writer will visit your Works to examine this radiator and discuss it with you, and will bring it back with him for our Design and Sales Officials to inspect here.

While he is at Wolverhampton, the writer would like to take the opportunity to discuss two points with you - oil cooler failures and accuracy of radiator matrix dimensions.

With regard to the former - we have had another oil cooler fail in service - again near the edge at a point where the solder may have been weakened by hand soldering the case. Since in the last consignment of coolers there was one of your latest type - i.e. completely frame dipped - it was proposed to send this one to the customer as a replacement in order to avoid repetition of the trouble, however, on test this cooler also showed a leak near the casing edge - the writer will bring it over with him for your inspection.

With regard to matrix dimensions, our Radiator Shop inform us that these often differ considerably from the drawing, particularly in the case of the Ph.III. Mk.VI. matrices. Actually we are aware that the drawing itself has been incorrect for some time, (this has now been remedied) but our complaint is that the matrices are not consistently correct to the drawing supplied to yourselves. The writer will bring with him a sample matrix to illustrate this point.

continued.
