X5810 Expl: Dept: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn{Mr Robinson}3/LG. 17th. Jan. 1929 Messrs. The Dunlop Rim and Wheel Co., Holbrook Lane, Foleshill, Coventry. Dear Sirs, 20 HP. Rolls-Royce Road Wheels. Bates We wish to spread the track of front wheels of our 20 HP. car. We want, if possible, to accomplish this by alteration to the wheels only. The increase in track required is 2.0" which means that the rim of each wheel will have to be moved outwards 1" in relation to the hub. The wheel on which we wish to carry out this experiment is the 19" rim narrow hub type to the attached drawing G.53408. You are at present building up a fourth set of these wheels for us having previously supplied three sets - we may wish to try this alteration on these. If it is feasible to modify these wheels as suggested, will you please let us know. If the 1" we require is too much, will you please let us know how far you can go towards it. Yours faithfully, | ||
