Mr. Spinney

x879

"Mr. Barrington submitted an
extract from the "Motor" of November 14th
showing a special form of ventilator
fitted to the scuttle of a Delaunay
Belville. The Committee agreed that
this form of ventilator would probably
be very efficient, but that it could
not be adopted to any car, except those
having the scuttle dash formed in the
manner shown on this particular chassis.
Mr. Spinney suggested that the best
scheme would be to leave a gap between
a special body dash and the chassis dash
in a similar manner to that shown on the
Napier chassis at Olympia. Such a
gap should be on the outside of the
bonnet and capable of being closed by
shutters. The Committee agreed that
Mr. Spinney should go into a design such
as he described."
