To EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from BJ. c. to PN.{Mr Northey} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4077 BJ7/H26.2.23. CHASSIS 46-G-1. X.4228. X.4253 X.4077 Thank you for EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}7/H23.2.23. Please let me know the cost of changing the brake lever. Would it not be possible, so far as the 100 cars are concerned which have the noisy brake lever, for something to be designed at the Works to overcome this small rattle on the brake levers, which is on the 100 cars already? Could not the knob be made to fit tighter or something, which would be cheaper than changing the whole lever. I was not informed, when I went on this chassis, that it was fitted with a speedometer showing kilometres and not miles. After I found it was not recording miles accurately, I took no further interest in it. Therefore you need trouble no further about this. I am glad to hear that you know of a cure for the whistling trouble, but cannot understand why the alteration is not standardised at once. Please let me know what is delaying the standardisation. Such an important point as this should not be delayed an instant more than is necessary. B.J. | ||
