Hallam - Head Repairs}4/W9124. Regarding point 3. we think that we are giving you Mr. Royce's opinion in saying that nothing can be done on this particular model to cover in the valves. There is no information available as to how much of the wear is due to external dust, or to dust drawn in through the carburetter, or due simply to lack of lubrication. We suggest it would be worth while to test a gland of the Goshawk pattern on each valve stem with holes provided through the external member of the gland for occasional hand lubrication. Regarding point 4. we think this is a matter for the Exp. Dept. to report on. It appears that the rings could do with a slight increase in the clearance if no ill effects attended such an alteration.
