of your order implies that an increase in price should be made to correspond with any increase in the cost of material, or in the rates of labor.

Guarantee. We will replace or repair at our option free of charge any goods which fail through a fault in workmanship or material exhibited within twelve months from date of delivery, provided that the defective goods or parts are returned carriage paid here. In the case of goods not our manufacture you are entitled to the benefit of any guarantee given us in respect thereof. No claim for contigent or third party losses or damage will be accepted by us.

Performance. The figures given for performance are based upon our experience and are such as we expect to obtain on test, but we will only accept liability for failure to obtain the figures given, when we guarantee such figures within specified margins, known as "tolerances" under an agreed penalty (as liquidated damages) and bonus if the figures exceed the tolerances. In the event of the goods being defective, or the performance failing to fulfil the terms of such guarantee, reasonable time and opportunity to remedy the defect or to comply with the terms of the guarantee shall be given us; if we fail to do so, either party may cancel the contract by notice of writing, as from that date without claim by or against the other, but such cancellation must take place before despatch.

PRICE QUOTED. does not include any regulating devices, and we would consider that the regulation of the tension of the voltage could best be obtained by having a bank of lamps as suggested in your communication of the 27th ultimo.

Alternatively, a potentiometer could be shunted across the input feeds, and variation of a selecting switch could be made gradually. The first scheme is most practical but if the second appeals to you, we would make a further quotation, for this resistance arrangement.

The ratio of secondary terminals would have to be read as follows where an A.C. Voltmeter is across the primary feeds :- On 5000 Volt tap. 25 to 1. On 10,000 tap 50 to 1. on 15,000 tap 75 to 1 on Outers 100 to 1.

Should any further information or new quotations be required we will be only too pleased to forward.

Another suggestion is being communicated separately thus giving you an alternative.
