Sidgreaves - MD}, and since this matter was previously discussed we have not left it over nor abandoned the scheme. We happened to hear that Lucas were endeavouring to obtain manufacturing rights of the parts in order to supply British car manufacturers with them over here. They have, however, not yet completed their negotiations, and as their scheme is the subject of a patent they are not quite sure yet how soon they can get the matter settled, if at all. We have been hoping, and are still hoping, that this will become possible shortly. In the meantime we have approached one of our Coachbuilders to know whether they would be prepared to fit such a scheme to a car if we asked them to do so irrespective of whether it was patented or not. They told us they would do so and we have reason to believe they would purchase the parts from General Motors in this Country. That being so we have decided to ask them to equip one of our Inspection Department cars with this scheme so that we can get some practical experience of it, and also the opinion of those who from time to time will use and ride in the car in question. I thought you would be interested at this juncture to know just what we are doing. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} duB | ||
