Dear Sirs,

Re Instructions for Charging and Operating
Exide Starting Lighting and Ignition Batteries
in Ebonite Boxes
for 40/50 H.P. Rolls-Royce Cars.

i.e. Instruction Booklet included in our
Instruction Book.

The question of the Instruction Book matter relating to our chassis electrical system has been under reconsideration, and it is our intention to adopt a re-arrangement of this matter on the following general lines, to avoid all overlapping of our own matter and the matter contained in your pamphlet.

More in particular this, in the main, amounts to cutting out our present Chapter IV entitled "Care of Battery" by suitably incorporating the matter at present therein contained either in our own main Chapter III of the electric lighting starting and ignition systems or, as included in the suggestions now being put before you, in your pamphlet.

The main idea is as follows :-
(1) That our (Chapter III) will now refer only to the battery in its relations to the remainder of the system.

and

(2) That your pamphlet will refer only to the battery as a unit in itself and contain no reference to any other portions of the system.
